HAPPY NEW YEAR
It is the start of the year and I have been remiss it keeping our travel log up to date for the end of last year. Well
, here it goes. I will bring you up to date.
We left the hotel in Denali the first week in September and headed south. The trip back to Las Vegas took 10 days and was
uneventful except for some snow we drove through in the Yukon. We were lucky the snow did not stick to the road.
We spent two week in Las Vegas. We got to visit with Laurie’s mom and also check on some our doctors to make sure
they were doing well.
Oct. 1st we headed east to Harrisburg, PA and a visit with Mitch’s parents and son Barry and his family.
We stayed there for 10 days and really enjoyed our visit. We then headed to Richmond, VA to visit with Debbie and our other
grandchild , Jessy.
It was now south to FL for the winter. Our 1st stop was in Jacksonville to visit with Laurie’s sister
for a few days and then a stop in Daytona Beach.
We then settled in for a few months in Kissimmee, FL.
Laurie took a trip out west and visited with her aunt and uncle in CA and then on to be with her mother. The main reason
for her trip was to help her mom who was to have cataract surgery. The surgery was quite successful and now her mom (age 89)
can see well enough to read again.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with a pot luck dinner at the club house here at the RV park.
This was followed by a great week when Barry, Johna and the grandchildren came for a week. We got to go to the Disney parks
and really enjoy it with the family. We have done Disney before, but going there with a 5 and 9 year old and watching them
on there first visit was great.
A week later we left on a 7 day cruise to the western Caribbean. We made stops in Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Belize and
Cozumel. The weather was not as nice as we would have liked. The first two days the sea was rough and we had some rain every
day of the cruise. We took a couple of trips to Mayan ruins in Costa Maya and Belize. These were quite interesting to see.
Of cause they had great entertainment every night and there was no lacking of food. They had a game of musical hats and
Mitch got to participate in this. He came in second. The funny part was no one played by the rules, but the audience had a
good laugh.
We spent Christmas day at a pot luck dinner in the RV park and New Years was quiet this year.
We will be leaving Kissimmee and working our way slowly out West.
In March we are going to Hawaii for three weeks to attend John’s (Laurie’s son) wedding on Maui and then a
10 day inter island cruise.
We will be spending this coming summer in NH. We have accepted a workamp job at a children’s amusement park. We are
looking forward the job and exploring the White Mountain area.
Again wishing everyone
